We have a family apocryphal story about friends who passed a tube of glitter to whoever was next due a smear test - one of them had given themselves a quick wash prior to a smear, not knowing that the flannel had been used on post-craft glitter covered hands....... The nurse's quote " you shouldn't have gone to so much trouble".

She was concerned as it was through these tests that her Dad's bowel cancer was detected (he's all clear too, after an operation; his was years ago, he's now 83).
