Smallest, most poorly attended gig I ever attended was Eighth Wonder at Bradford Uni (85 or 86). I only went because it was free, I had nothing else to do, and I was a fan of Bird's Eye frozen peas.

I went to a Beastie Boys concert where the Lead Singer threw a beer can into the crowd and it hit a girl in the face. The crowd started launching them back and it ended in a near riot. The one and only time I've had tear gas used against me Singer ended up in the Magistrates Court liverpoolecho.co.uk |

I was at that concert too, bigleggy, very exciting as a teenager, although my recollection is that a large part of the crowd were there for a fight and were throwing stuff first, and trying to storm the stage. We ended up spending the night on Lime Street station too, which was also something of an education...

Cerretonia - yeah stuff was getting thrown around before they even got on stage. But once that can got launched into the crowd all hell broke loose.

I saw the Bay City Rollers at Futurama, a punk festival, in 1983. Absolute chaos.

I think my friend Gill was at that Eighth Wonder gig. Or maybe she just heard about it. I went to see Atilla the Stockbroker in Ikley and there were 11 of us there. I still didn't have the courage to talk to him. |

Also thought Bob Dylan live was rubbish, saw him in Glasgow some years ago. No crowd interaction, unrecognisable songs, a voice so gravelly it wasn't pleasant to listen to. Trying to work out which song he was singing was the only entertaining part of the whole event.

Ilkley maybe not prime Attila the Stockbreaker fan territory. We saw JCC at the Ilkley Literary Festival a few years ago and I wasn't convinced everyone in the crowd got all his quips and cultural references
