Music has kept me going. My first gig was Hazel O’ Connor with my big sister, I knew every word of the Eighth Day Album! There’s never been a time I’ve stopped listening and although I like some of the 80s I’ve always been open to new music.

Billy Bragg, Elastica, James, The Levellers, Depeche Mode, New Order, Blur, I used to go to Reading Festival for a day when I lived in Newport and gigs in Cardiff and the Newport Centre were so accessible back in the day!

I even took my next door neighbours daughter to see Boyzone! I saw Marilyn Manson in London! I have a thing for ‘electronic’ type music and have seen Hot Chip and the chemical brothers, had my photo taken with Aphex Twin once!

Radiohead in the big top was one of the best experiences, although there have been countless brilliant memories!

At a James gig I’d gone out to the loo and seen one of the members of support act (Radiohead) on a phone!

I went to Glastonbury in 1998, it was a wet year, the year they pumped shit into the dance tent instead of sucking up the mud 😂

In recent years I’ve seen James Blunt, Biffy Clyro and last year I saw Red Hot Chili Peppers and took my eldest to see Placebo!

Off to see The Tesky Brothers tomorrow night with a work colleague!

Being only 53 I can remember listening to Tango in The Night over and over on cassette, then my first proper boyfriend when I was 17 was a bit older and introduced me to Rumours! Not really ever got into any of the older stuff FM did!

Sigh
On this day in 1988, I went to see Ry Cooder at the NEC, on the "Get Rhythm" tour (his version of "All Shook Up" from the album is on the soundtrack to the film "Cocktail"). As a sign of the times, on the ticket it says: "Ry requests that the audience refrain from smoking during the show - thank you."

I can’t recall all the bands I’ve seen but this thread jogged a few memories. I’ve been going ‘oh yeah, I also saw them…’ about Deacon Blue, James,…

At the risk of shifting the thread away from bands and back to poop - I've failed my poop stick test - phone call with a nurse on wednesday to discuss colonoscopy - hoping that I won't have long to wait for the colonoscopy as I would rather just know what is going on..........
On the plus side I'm in scotland, so if it is something bad at least it should be caught early. Feeling a lot like swearing......

Thank you so much. I've found a 2021 BJC paper giving a 93% false positive rate for poop test positives in the UK, so am hanging on to that hopeful statistic for now.

I'll know more after chatting with the nurse, and have managed to book a room, so at least I won't be calling from a communal office.
