I went to way more gigs in my 40s than in my 20s/30s, also went to Glasto for the first time aged 41, have been 6 times now. Have also done clubbing / Ibiza / MoS 20 years too late!
It's like anything else, if you still enjoy it, why stop?
The phones at gigs thing really pisses me off but I'm fairly tall so it doesn't COMPLETELY ruin the gig experience for me. I also hate people who bring in backpacks rather than take them to the cloakroom, and people who chat all the way through gigs.

I went to the second Glastonbury - it was called something like 'The Bath Festival of Rock and Progressive Music ' back then. 1970 I think (I still have the programme somewhere) I was seventeen.
It was - I guess - a very good lineup including Pink Floyd, Jefferson Airplance, Led Zep, Fairport Convention and the Byrds... oh and bloody Donovan who turned up at every fesitval in the early 70s. It was very wet and cold and I 'almost' hated it. There were a lot of drugs.
It all seems a very long time ago. Well, it WAS!

'Very wet and cold' - yes, that sounds like Donovan

ha..ha...bloody Donovan! But at least he is still doing "his thing" on some island off the coast of Scotland. I don't think he was that bad..a bit twee on "A Gift from a Flower to a Garden" but he had some good moments too. I thought the Byrds were pretty abysmal!

I always preferred the Incredible String Band. Still do!

I saw the Byrds at the Roundhouse, Chalk Farm. I went to the Jazz and Blues Festival at Richmond Athletics Ground in the early sixties, with my first girl friend. We chose the wrong day, as the only band of any note was Garry Farr and the T Bones. His father was Tommy Farr, a famous boxer, in his day.

We’re accidentally on an HF holiday. Any experience, people?
Four days in and we’re still in shock.

Sorry Greppers - no idea what HF hols are!
I do know what T&F is though and was v. pleased with my best LJ for a couple of years last night, a reasonable 100m (80% wava *boasts*) and PHEW managed tot clear a metre again in the HJ.
Acronym alert!
