I'm thinking of a mile ish River swim soon, point to point. I would like to have the option of a drink while swimming, but not sure how or what kit to use. Does anyone have any tips?

I'll be swimming with a tow float of course, but it's a bit of a faff to get in to while in the water.

Just take a few mouthfuls while you’re going along!

How long would it take you? I would question the need for a drink. I am slow and a mile would take me approx 45 mins.

If you really need water how about something like a platypus soft bottle you could clip to your tow float.

I would like to do a full moon sea swim on Friday evening and I suspect I wouldn't be the only one given how many swimmers there were at dawn on the summer solstice, but OH thinks it's a ludicrous idea to go swimming 'in the dark'. Moon rise is about 21:30. Is it such a ludicrous idea? I don't go far out from shore!!

I'm down on the south coast on holiday and the local blue tits swimmers are definitely doing a full moon swim.

There didn't seem to be a thread devoted to open water swimming, so I thought I'd start one.
