Open Water Swimming

poppyH Jul 2022 7:02pm, 24 Jul 2022 1,644 posts	0 poppyH Looks serene. I swam this afternoon in the lake and it was so windy. Only 400m loop open to swim, and it was really choppy and hard work, felt a bit like being in the sea.

Not quite so much of a heatwave up there perhaps but certainly warmer than usual. Wetsuits of course cos we are wimps. Out and back to an island which is apparently an artificial pile of stones on a shoal, used as a crannog back in the day and as a seagull nesting site now! (the tower is a Victorian addition)

jda Jul 2022 10:10am, 28 Jul 2022 13,086 posts	0 jda Midges weren't really much of an issue the whole week, perhaps due to sunshine and general dryness. But I think our thick neoprene would even stop the clegs, of which there were a few!
