Sweetie
Having been closed for some weeks, my local swim venue has finally been declared safe for swimming (it was just marine algae not toxic blue-green algae - doh!).
So my first open water swim of the year will be tomorrow night - a 1500m charity swim. I fear this is going to be a bit of a struggle!

LindsD - maybe see you at one or the other... I looked for you at Heron last night anyway.. Heron is close to my work, but Denham is closer to home so will use both from time to time...

Anyone ever swum at the Serpentine? Seems wetsuits are frowned upon.

I've done races in the Serpentine where wetsuits were fine but I think the hard-core regulars don't approve of them. But if they are not banned you should be allowed to wear them. Maybe you'll just get the odd tut

Have you swum there before? The water's a bit murky and it gets quite shallow near the bank. I've seen people walk in some of the races I've done! It is a beautiful setting though and it's next to a cafe for afterwards.

Is this the place to ask questions about Aquathlons?
I'd doing my first one tomorrow - 750m in the lake and then a 5km run.
What do people have in the transition area and do you have it in a bag or just a pile of stuff?
I figure I'm going to wear shorts and sports bra under my wetsuit so I'll need t-shirt (with number), socks, trainers and towel in the transition area. Am I missing anything?

Dry Robe for after finishing. Water for a quick swig before you run.
I have my stuff out and ready/lined up for after swimming but a bag too for things for after finishing running.
