Dipped in Loch Venachar last Friday for 1st swim of the year - it was about 7.5C. I did about 50 strokes then swam back to the start as my cheeks were so cold.
After a regroup I went back out again and it was ok for a few hundred metres. 2nd dip tonight in my local reservoir & Iโm hoping that itโs warmed up to double figures, or at least it will seem a bit warmer than that 1st effort

๐๐ Thanks for the advice folks. Will give it a try on Sunday.
Swimming in Loch Venachar must be amazing, itโs lovely there.

Brilliant swim in the sea this morning, the group estimate 8degrees! My new wetsuit seems to fit ok, certainly felt fine in the water.

Back at Mooloolaba Spit this morning. Grey and drizzly day and when I arrived I realised I had forgotten my towel. After a few minutes prevarication I took the plunge. After the initial cold shock it was lovely and a great way to wind down from tough Trail Half Marathon yesterday.

Jumped in the blue lagoon yesterday. 14.5 deg. They've laid it out differently so each lap is 500m thought I'd be lucky to do 1 after the lay off. Ended up doing 4!

Tried Heron lake on the way home tonight - the water is lovely and warm only had time for 3 short laps but still good.

Glad you liked it Richard. Coincidentally I was near Denham last night so went to have a look. Looks nice and is much nearer my house.
