Yes, 46 miles. We did it last year and I had done at least three longish rides in the run-up, I think. I'm jealous of Luiz's swim. It sounds lush.

LN - I like to think I'm some kind of super-endurance athlete but actually it's more that I'm a tight northerner who needs value for money. No way I'm paying my money for a swim and getting less than an hour in the water!

20C in the lake tonight! Unfortunately I forgot to have a snack before swimming and my arms were aching from a weights workout this morning, so I only managed 25 mins

It was super! Insurance conditions mean we have to wear wetsuits at that lake, but no need for gloves or neoprene hats now. It seemed to warm up very quickly this year.

Too early for me to be thinking about a whole hour just yet, Luiz.

I agree about the water warming up quickly, Scribbler. Our lake seemed to go from 11 to 16 in under a week. I'm back in the lake tomorrow and I'll just take my normal hat with my wetsuit. I'll be aiming for a complete lap which is just over 1km. I just need to look out for the family of coots, hope they're not too unfriendly!

I did my first British sea swim this morning 😊 I went with a group and the water was a chilly 14 degrees 😄 It was amazing, I am quite scared of sea swimming but actually I got on fine, went in and swam about. Only did 10 minutes as I've no wetsuit and they did say to be cautious. Phenomenal morning 😄😄😄

That sounds brilliant, Jambomo :-)

Not cold at all today in the lake with my wetsuit and normal hat. Did at least 1km in just under 30 mins, v. happy with that. Saw baby coots, a huge family of ducks and several enormous fish. It was a great day!
