Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

If I were in Sidmouth tomorrow I'd be doing the Boxing Day swim - sadly I'm going 90 miles in the wrong direction :-(

Nice little Christmas day swim of 1 km at Amanzimtoti beach Durban South. A cool day, think the water at 23 degrees was a little warmer than air temp some of the time

:-) I'd opt for Indian Ocean over 12 degrees - stay in long enough for a lengthy swim

Just signed up to do a swim across Corryvreckan in July.

One of my chums is hiring a boat to guide us past the world's third largest whirlpools there that only stop for about one hour per day.
I watched a YouTube clip about the crossing & it all looks pretty exciting. The crossing is 1.4km & faster folk (not me) will have time to make the return journey too

There didn't seem to be a thread devoted to open water swimming, so I thought I'd start one.
