I’ll do the twisty stretches after club this evening. Didn’t have time this morning.

Are yoga mats worthwhile?
I dont have one but sometimes I feel my hands slide on the carpet when going into downward dog.

I know they are only a few pound but ones I've seen seem really thin.

We have some sort of cheapo mat. It doesn't seem quite wide enough come to think of it. Maybe *I'm* too wide?

I do think they help - I only bought a cheap one from TK Maxx.

Yes get a mat! It does help you stick a bit especially if you are barefoot. More expensive mats (I got a discounted Sweaty Betty one) have a tacky surface for grip and get grippier with moisture, good if you’re sweaty or at a hot yoga class.

You can also get a yoga ‘towel’ which goes over a normal mat and is also grippier when damp, you can lightly spray it with water if you need more grip.

Our Aldi currently has fitness stuff. Plus they last for ever. Mine is about 30 years old.

Just measure our one. It is 59cm wide. This seems about normal from what I can see on Amazon but when Adriene says 'go to the egdes of your mat' her mat seems a lot wider.

I'm like a pro then, got a mat and blocks. Thing about yoga is, by the way just done day 4, it pinpoints were I'm not flexible. For me it's my lower back, hips, upper back, shoulders, neck and ankles so that's just about everywhere. Mind you I'm bendier than I used to be. On the International Bendy Scale, which I've just invented, I'm no longer Watch with Mother's Woodentops*, more like Pinocchio. If I carry on like this by the time I'm 80 I could be a Muppet, or a real boy.

* ask somebody really old
