Sample of one : magnesium fizzy things do seem to improve my energy levels and fidgety legs. That or me drinking a pint of slightly fizzy water I might not have drunk of course...
I haven't attended any menopause things at my work. Probably would have been handy 8 or so years ago for me, now CBA. Hope they are useful for younger folk and not the absolute tosh Linds has ensured. Sigh.

Thanks for that link to the HRT/CVD paper @DrMags as someone who has recently had some cardiovascular problems it would be useful to keep that in my back pocket in case my GP raises an issue between that and my HRT. Not that there has been any hint of it so far but you never know.

I feel really lucky at the moment that my GP has never even hinted at me coming off HRT (mind you, I’m not through the menopause bit yet), and I’ve been on it coming up on 4 years.

I wonder if women who go through the menopause unscathed think it's because of something they've done rather than they're just bloody lucky!?!

Oh, and I came off HRT at 49 and it was horrendous! I'm back on it and they can prise it out of my cold, dead hands ;-)

If I ever doubted its benefit, a few weeks ago I forgot my HRT (oestrogen gel) on a Friday morning. Then didn’t have it Saturday as I usually have it after my shower and I was going cycling.

Cycling felt like really hard work and like I was cycling through treacle that got thicker as the ride went on. I ended up telling my club mates to go ahead (my OH stuck with me). That feeling was what prompted me to go on HRT in the first place-it would have been easy to go ‘it’s all just too hard work and I’ll give up cycling’

This. Reminiscent of natural birth champions. [Great if it works for you. I'll have epidural with a side of gas, please, waiter.]

I decided to start the new HRT regime straight away in the hope that it would agree with me and would reduce my symptoms sooner so that they didn't impact our weekend away next week.
I have no idea if this is the new way of taking progesterone or just that I'm done in but I can't stop crying this morning.
Yesterday our office closed but I still have a job so really not that big a deal, I've had a really awful cold for a week now and every day that I think I'm getting better I get floored again the next day, a boss 3 levels above me is asking my opinion on something where my opinion is that he's a waste of oxygen and obviously I can't put that in my email response to him. I think I need to take the day off work but it'll be the 4th period of sick leave this year and over 3 is frowned upon and might not be paid, plus hubby does not agree with people take sick leave for "just a cold" so he'll make me feel like shit if he sees I've "skived".
So probably not the drugs then, I think I've just reached my limit. Sorry for off loading here, just really needed a safe space to dump some of this.
