@DrMags I like the paper you've linked - haven't kept up to date with papers - I especially like the graphs showing how key getting timely HRT is. Plus this will be good to take to my next HRT review. Locally they like prescribing it for 3 years, then you have to start getting stroppy to keep it. I'm at two years and am fond of my patches (even more so seeing the reduced morbidity graphs!).

My GP had a very determined attempt to stop me taking it after 3 years. She said 'don't you want to see what your life will be like after you stop?' I cried on the phone. I definitely don't. They haven't tried since.

I think the NICE guidelines say you can stay on it as long as you want, don't they? I have zero intention of stopping without a very good reason

From the NHS website: 'You can take HRT for as long as you need it. You can discuss this with your doctor or nurse at your yearly review.' |

The specialist I’ve been under says I can have it as long as I want . She feels that every women should be able to have it if able and those with bone issues too.
