Cheers, folks. I think it underlines that you need good recovery, because I missed 2 sessions due to feeling under the weather, then came back feeling a lot stronger than the last time I deadlifted.

I had to hold onto the bath to sit down on the toilet this morning. Hoping a run is going to loosen things up a bit.

I have solved the mystery of the bar weight: a neighbour lent me a thing for weighing luggage. I dangled the bar from it and saw the entirely unexpected figure of 14.2kg! So I am a bit confused as to why it would be such an odd number but happy enough that my guess/assumption of 15kg was close enough.

quimby I am always disappointed if I don't have DOMS after I feel like I've worked hard.

I am the Goldilocks of lifting belts! I still have a few that don't actually fit me anymore. I use a 10mm lever belt for squats & deadlifts, etc (I got a fancy adjustable lever so I don't need to be constantly unscrewing it to adjust it. I have a velcro belt for when my lever belt would be too chunky. I use a soft belt (like an old school back support) for things like sangbags and stones.

SK could it be an imperial weight? So not exact conversion to kg?

Or it could be the luggage scales aren’t perfectly accurate and it’s a 15kgs bar.

... a weights wire for women.

And in case you're wondering about that title, well, I like alliteration and one can be too po-faced about the use of girl/lady/woman.

Here's a strength standards for women thing Duracel found for us
