Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

My coach is £160 a month and I think you can get a discounted membership rate for the gym if you want to join (he's one of the owners). I had paid for a year up front on my gym membership already though.

Morning Ladies
tomorrow I will be lifting stuff
today I am realising that I used my core during my session yesterday or more likely my core is indeed poor so my session yesterday made it go OMG!
Birthday is 9/4 by which time I will have no races for 6 mths so starting PT will be ideal

I thought this website may be of interest on here. I found it via a woman called Ginny MacColl, who does some staggering American Ninja stuff at 69y.o. It’s American & seems aimed at Ladies Who Lift over the age of 35. CK2’s having a good old poke around on the site as I type.

I’m particularly admiring this woman - oldladygains.com - who I also follow on Instagram - https://instagram.com/ginnymaccoll?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

Thanks for those links, both. I've bookmarked your comments and will have a good look later.

Slightly embarrassing mathematical failure this morning. I had 35kg RDLs on my list. Saw a barbell with 2 x 20kg already on it, so decided, OK, I'll do 40kg instead, just fewer reps. Took me a moment after bracing before I mentally added on the extra 20kg for the barbell... No, I didn't lift it! (Still on 55kg for deadlifts.) Then I struggled to get the 20s off the bar; the woman next to me came to help. 😂 I need to take my brain as well as my body to the gym, but it can be challenging at around 5am.

Really annoying when people leave heavy weights on the equipment! I can barely lift a 20kg weight.

I’ve occasionally had to ask a random chap at the gym to lift the 20kg weights off barbells or leg press machines.

... a weights wire for women.

And in case you're wondering about that title, well, I like alliteration and one can be too po-faced about the use of girl/lady/woman.
