I went to the spit and sawdust gym again this morning to do the program Nic set me. I’ve been steadily increasing reps before increasing weight and I’d say it’s working. Today I had a few final reps that felt like they were close to failure.

You know when you've got the weight right, don't you Cath. I managed to get to failure in the 3rd set of bicep curls last week.

Thanks folks :)
I know I struggled to run ‘hard’ after Pilates, a gentle jog or a swim are fine - will see how I get on
(Reminds self to do some home practice before next week or I’ll struggle)

Pilates in the evening after a long (10+ miles) run or walk in the day was always a challenge, my hamstrings objected.

I'm thinking (hoping!) That I'll get a bit of money for my big birthday
I'm considering taking inspiration from GM and booking weekly PT strength sessions

Pix is there anywhere near you doing small group PT? It’s a really good way of trying PT without it feeling too scary and not too expensive. I did one at my gym which was 6 weeks for £70 and there were 4-6 of us.

That’s a bargain! I pay double that a month… for 8 sessions a month.

If I did it I would use the guy I’ve seen on and off as PT and for sports massage for years

Only snag is he’s not close by but he’s good and knows me so wouldn’t accept s**t!

If I get money!

It was at the gym I pay for monthly so not just £70, but I really enjoyed the classes. I still see her at the gym and we always chat.

Mind you, the gym is not expensive either, as I joined when it opened? £33/m for the gym and all classes, which was partly why I joined as I wasn’t sure I would use it (I do!)
