pladis announces uplifting sponsorship for Jessica Da SIlva
pladis UK&I is delighted to announce that it is sponsoring Jessica Da Silva in her bid to qualify for the Olympic Weightlifting competition next year at Paris 2024.
Jessica who works in the UK&I sales/customer team, found weightlifting as a sport in 2019 and has shown huge progress in that time, last year very nearly breaking the British record in -87kg weight class and taking the gold medal at the English Championship in November.
Her journey to qualify for the Olympics starts at a behind closed doors competition on 10 February and then she will compete at the European Weightlifting Championships, in April, competing for her native Portugal.
She will be promoting pladis and our brands at the various weightlifting competitions she attends through the next 12-16 months. In that time she will continue her training at Middlesex University and the London Olympic Weightlifting Academy, where she will receive an increased amount of bespoke one to one coaching thanks to our funding.
Jessica will update us all on her progress throughout the year, in our Newsletters, speaking at Town Halls as well as via other platforms – as well as running some sessions on the benefits of functional fitness.
Given my limited home set up - what's best to strengthen back muscles? I know my posture needs working on and have core exercises I have noted to do but this morning my back is sore which makes me think I need to strengthen that as well as my core!
I was wondering if I put my pullup bar on the door frame then knelt and then using a resistance band did lateral pulls? would that work?
I guess bent over reverse fly and deadlifts help?
Would the core exercises of dead bug and superman (think that's it's name) work back as well as core?
