The wool clip in Caldbeck is the only place I know, nice cafe next door and lovely walk along the river too.

For yarn, WL? The Wool Clip in Caldbeck is fascinating, and VP tells me there's a good yarn shop in Ulverston.

I went to the crookabeck farm shop last year (in patterdale). It is tiny, but has some lovely yarn. Much of it is fairly natural and from very local sheep. I enjoyed it. Have yet to knit up the various treats I bought.

The pattern I chose is easier than I expected. Might need to look for another project with a bit more challenge.

I’m sure they’re worth it, Pix. 😁

I used up all my wool stash making mittens and scarves to give to charity in the autumn. Now just have the Aran wool I’m using for my autumn cardigan. It’s lovely wool, knitting up really well.
