Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Indeed. I am very used to bending thin, cold bits of metal. This will be a bit different!

The jumper is absolutely gorgeous, runnyeyes - I love the pattern and colour. I'm going to attempt a pattern called Sunday Cardigan which I found on Ravelry. It's a straightforward knit - no fancy stitches or cables - but it's fluffy wool so that will be interesting to work with.

A Blacksmith taster day is epic, Meglet. It will be lots of fun!

EP, I am a firm believer that colouring and drawing is not about producing a photographic image of something. Like everything we need to practice plus there’s the added benefits of just having fun and enjoying it. Try to find the inner child who just enjoyed scribbling and drawing without worrying about how perfect the rest of it is, in time with practice the rest will come.

Funnily enough I was talking with my daughter about drawing last night. She's doing an art foundation course. The course leaders are keen that they don't want to see photo-realism or accuracy in drawing, it's more about how you interpret something. We then reflected on the fact she was asked to make an accurate drawing for portfolio submission when she applied and they've never done anything similar since, but we wondered if they want you to be able to draw accurately first, so you know when not to?

Picasso was a superb draughtsman (is that the right word?) - i.e. very good at drawing accurately before going on to develop his adult style.

Fragile Do Not Bend
I’ve been trying to decide what to make with all the yarn I’ve already got, then this CAL kit pops up on FB and I think “ooh, pretty”. It’s acrylic so not much money for the kit but I have so much yarn already...

Well if you like it and need a new project get it! I spend far too long trying to use what I’ve already got stashed in projects, but life is to short to worry about it!

Cherry Heart has some similar patterns, perhaps you could use your existing yarn for one of those?
