Using marker yarns for decreasing at the toe. This is the second sock 👍👍

If the light is good I can probably read the stitches for decreasing.. but it’s annoying if I get it wrong... hence the pink threads.

I mark both sides of the foot when shaping the toe. It's easier to shuttle a loop of yarn than to count and read the knitting.

I actually prefer to work socks on dpns although I don’t usually make it to the heel, so I haven’t knit a pair in a long time! I have just discovered that a pair of gifted handknit socks are the best thing for wearing with my motorbike boots so I will have to get past the heel eventually. It’s not that I can’t turn a heel I’ve done more than half a dozen pairs but the autism makes me a bit tetchy! 😂

I like DPNS or a single tiny circular. Magic loop/travelling loop etc just seem too much faff

Whereas I like magic loop & find dpns a faff. I haven't tried tiny circulars though, or addi flips.

Having had a play with Addi FlexiFlips, I planned to replace all my small circulars and standard DPNs with them. But I've never quite been able to bite down on the financial outlay.

I like my addi flips, I just keep forgetting that I’ve got them so they don’t get used much

Hi

I’m looking for advice please.
I’m a knitting newbie and I’ve just bought 12 balls of style craft super chunky wool/acrylic mix and some circular needles planning to make a double blanket.
I thought I’d easily be able to calculate the number of stitches and ensure that I had enough wool but I’m now getting cold feet that I’ll run out of wool!
Does anyone know where I can get a calculation from please.
Thank you

It’ll probably involve some maths and a weighing scale and a swatch. Or if it’s from a pattern it will often tell you how much yarn you need, assuming your gauge is to pattern (or coming out smaller!) you should be fine.
