Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Well there's another week to go so maybe there's still hope of a small improvement but honestly I've barely touched the rower since my holiday. At this point I've gone 2 weeks and my only row was a 45 r18 last Saturday. Hoping to get back on the rower tomorrow and see what's what, then I'm going to rejig the plan as I need to have a mini-restart after effectively 2 weeks off and then we see how next week goes.

With a bit of luck and using the pace boat from last month, I think a very small improvement might be possible but I'd only expect a couple of seconds at best.

I reckon 10 seconds is there for the taking for you, Jef. The consistent metres you've been rowing do add up to an improvement in fitness, and having done your initial benchmark you've probably got a better idea of what pacing will work for you.

Ah yes. Sorry. Forgot about your holiday. A major factor indeed.

I introduced 4 x 1k and a hard 5km each week along with two. 30 min solid efforts at low rate with the other 3 being maintenance rows. Next month will bring some harder stuff.

the 30 mins are a bit of a cop out as the plan suggests 10 to 12 km which for me would be 42 to 50 minutes. Even thats a bit short when you look at the Wolverine plan

The wider the training base, the higher the pyramid so I'm led to believe

What sort of rowing sessions are you doing Mac? There are a lot of shorter sets that could be done which will impact rowing fitness more than just steady (or continuous fast) rowing and have the benefit of breaking up the time so it doesn't feel like you've been on the rower for too long.

I tend to get on the rower for a 1km warm up for weights, or I decide I'm going to be sensible and slow and go for 5k, but as the oxygen to my brain depletes and I make some crap calculations, suddenly go on a wild PB chase.

It's one of the reasons I use the ski erg more than the rower, I have a less abusive relationship with it

500m PB this evening by 0.7seconds, although it was a very old and soft pb. 1:40.3 in the bag, so the power is there.

I just need to get the endurance side of things together now then. Easy work.😉

Congrats on the PB Nellers, that's a nice confidence booster! I think you upload TCX files to Fetch? The last week or so when I click on a row on C2 logbook it opens the Ergdata app and shows me the data on there, which is ok for viewing but there's not an option to download files, any ideas how to get round this?

Well done on your new pb Nellers, the previous one may have been old and soft but a pb is a pb!
