I would love to say that my shed gym was bought because I foresaw these circumstances. The truth is that I'm anti-social, intimidated by the gymboys, and too tight to keep paying memberships just to use their rowers.

Hopefully things change soon Angus, and you're able to rejoin us.

Wow you've all been busy on here! Congrats on the marathons Sinj and Nellers, great times! I hope your backsides aren't too sore Today.

Stick with the lower damper and stroke rate Deajay. Everyone's different but I do most of my general rowing at a drag factor of about 120, which on my erg is damper setting 4-5.

That's a good 2k debut Rog! I find Pauls Law to be quite accurate, although sprints to long distance don't convert too well as most people are either power or endurance based. (Open the link and click on the right hand tab... machars.net )

Keep working on your persuasion skills Angus, tell Mrs C it'll be good exercise for the whole family 😉

Unfortunately I don't think I can join you for the Spring Challenge as I'm already logging meters for Sub7 in the World Erg Challenge and the Annual Affiliation Standings, and I don't think you can add a second team, but I'll take another look.

60 mins for me yesterday, longest row of the year so far 👍

*Pauls Law quite accurate for predicting a pace for other distances based on an actual TT.

Me too, it would seem.

I've just read the details on this spring challenge. There are separate categories for men and women, so we don't need a team of 8. We need 2 teams of 8!

I think we're probably done for then.:-(

Thanks Craggy

I could maybe talk one more (quiet) fetchie into joining us for a mens team but it does look like getting 8 would be difficult.

Concept 2 have a new challenge for April:

Join us in April for a streak challenge with a difference. To take part, you need to row, ski or ride every day for 15 days from April 1. Each day, however, the distance you need to do rises. On April 1 you need to do at least 1000m. On April 2, you need to do at least 2000m, all the way up to 15,000m on April 15.

That challenge will follow on nicely from your mud challenge Sinj! Think I'll have a go at it, looks a good way to get fit.

11k in total tonight, I was going to do a 5k TT so did my 2k warn up but then I bottled it, so I did 8k comfortably hard instead, followed by a 1k cool down

As we can't do the team challenge I guess I'd better go for the distance one instead. I'm in!
