Morning all.

I'm still plodding along with a PM3. I do use RowPro on the laptop though, which is probably equivalent albeit a bit clunkier.

Just some mileage to declare, accompanied by myself as the pace boat on RowPro. Same distance as last time (7500) but a smidge lower hr values. Just working at it slowly ...

2 out of 4 for the challenge at the moment.
Circuits and coaching last night meant no rowing.
I have to work this evening, so that puts me in a dilemma between rowing and family dinner.

May have to squeeze a couple of 5000m efforts around this.

Managed to squeeze 30 minutes (7009m) and then a 3000m effort.

3/4 now.

Saturday is looking unlikely as it stands but the rest of the week should be OK.

4/5. Did 5 x 10 minute stroke rate ladders this morning. 11.25km in the bag.

Thanks for your advice re the stroke ladders, Nellers. I'll experiment a bit to see what works best at the moment.

Enjoy the PM5, sinj. I don't think I've explored even half the features yet but a row's not a row without connecting the monitor to ErgData.

There's been some good training going on here over the past week. Enjoy the challenge, Nellers and sinj! I've got a case of life interfering with training at the moment, so can't join you, and I'm such a long way from feeling sharp on the erg that I'm not sure I'll manage the 1000m TT either.

Think I'm going to follow Muttley's example and go back to basics a bit to work on technique for a while.

Hello! Popping in as recommended by Nellers!

I'm a newbie, injured runner - with a knee issue but rowing is absolutely fine. Injury been with me since November but only tried rowing last week for the first time as i'd assumed I would aggravate it.

After some shorter sessions, I decided to challenge myself tonight and did 10k. I'm not fast (took me 51 and a bit minutes! - including a couple of pauses to have a drink!), but I was pleased to complete it, main issue was my bum from being sat in that position for so long and using those muscles!!!

Gym rowers are quite new, not concept2 which I've used before - I use an app called skillrow and they are technogym I think?

I had a little go on a Technogym rower a while back during a hotel stay. I didn't like the seat but I'm used to the Concept 2. From what I remember the display and the feedback you get from it is pretty good and the handle is a bit wider. It's all the same to a great extent though.

Well done on the 10k. 50 minutes is a long time on any rowing machine seat!

I've just been on the Concept2 logbook site to check how the World 1km results are looking and I spotted that I've qualified for the 5 Million Metres club. Another free t-shirt ordered.:-)

It only seems yesterday that you were ordering your 1 million t-shirt, Nellers! That's a pretty impressive training volume. :-)

Welcome, clare1976! I couldn't get much beyond 5K before the bum pain got too much, so I now use a foam seat pad (I got mine from Concept2), which makes all the difference. I think others use things like rolled-up towels.

A lot has happened since the 1mm shirt, CW.

Knocked out my threshold session for the week this morning as I'm off up to Leicester this afternoon so no rowing until Sunday evening if I get home in time.

(That's 5/6 for the challenge sinj. Over to you mate.;-))
