News flash:

Firstly and most importantly I've updated CW's new PB on the table on the sidebar. Well done CW. That's a nice result.

Secondly Fetch has worked his magic so the Indoor Rowing subcategories (Intervals, Drills Steady State etc) now feed into the monthly distance leagues! He's also pointed out that you can just use Rowing-Indoor and add a tag if you'd rather.

Thirdly 2 x 5km done this morning. I let the HR drift a bit but it was still aerobic and concentrating on the tekkers.

I like a newsflash!

👏 x 3

Welcome back to the distance league Nellers 😁

A steady 10k tonight in the dark, it was quite therapeutic.

I knocked out a low rated 5k this evening too. 15km for the day.

I'm continuing to work hard on lowering my stroke rate and keep my force curve smooth. It seems to be paying off.

Week 2 of Pete Plan.
4 x 2000m/r5:00 @ 5k-1s last night.

Everything going well at the moment.
Good pace and feeling stronger and more confident that I can maintain the pace for the whole session.
A towel over the feet is keeping my toes warm.

Felt like I struggled to maintain consistent pace yesterday (4 x 750m/r2:00). I get a tight chest thing sometimes, more when running than rowing, and yesterday felt as though I couldn't catch my breath properly. The final one was faster than the others, and at least it's another ticked off. Tried to go for 26spm pace on the efforts but it was a bit random, and the pace was slower than the 500s from the previous week (plan says it should be the same).

Good work sinj, love the towel idea!

Morning all. Good stuff from SK and sinj. Cold feet on the erg is a new one for me, my issue is dissipating the heat not trying to hold on to it!

Welcome to the distance league Nellers. But it does show that you've been slacking of late ...

Today's sesh was 15 x 1min go 1 min rest, as fast as poss while remaining in control. One of my favourites, I call it the half-hour of power :-) Always seems to pass quickly (it is only a short workout really) and always makes me sweat.

That metallic noise you can hear, Muttley, is me picking up that gauntlet!;-) That session of min on/min off is a classic in whatever sport. I remember doing it running and way back in my teens/early 20s in a kayak on the river too! Tough but it works.

I'm probably going to only get a couple of km done today as warm up for some weights I've got planned for this evening. Tomorrow AM is either going to be 10k or an hour depending how I feel, then nothing significant until Monday as I'm up in Leicester again.

The shed is certainly cooling down this month. I'm still shorts & t-shirt once I've warmed up and I'm doing a lot of visible breathing and steaming gently once I'm going. The fans are still in use on longer pieces too. I remember last winter I was rowing in long tights and a thermal undershirt with a woolly hat on at times! Not really looking forward to that but hey ho, I'll do what I need to and get things done.

Thanks all!

Some good sessions going on here. 750s at the same pace as 500s is tough, especially if you've done the 500s at a decent pace, SK, so it sounds like you did well on that session.

I might have a go at the half-hour of power sometime too. At least it's over quickly!

Glad you've solved the cold toes problem, Sinj. Will have to remember that for when it starts getting frosty outside.

Steady 9500m for me today. Tried to keep s/r around 20 and stroke length consistent but it got tough around the 7500m mark, which made me realise I've cheated on too many of the longer sessions by breaking them up/replacing them with slow warm-ups and shorter TTs.

Wow there's been some great training going on today, well done everyone 💪

Tonight 1k strapless, then 30 mins made up of 3 x 8' @r18 / 2' @r22 with no rests. Then another 1k strapless.
