Nellers, in the distance league table your average pace is showing as rather slower than mine. Can't be right, surely? You're much faster than I am.

I’ve been building back in gently after the manflu and there has been a higher proportion of drills than is usual. I reckon it’s about right.
For now.😉

Anyway, 10k knocked out this morning at average 2:13/ 500m so that should start to bring my average down again.

Do you (any of you) add the metres which the import misses - i.e. the rest metres between intervals? I know it would tend to give a false impression of average pace but OTOH I feel that they should be in my log.

Yes, I do. I think a few pages back Nellers mentioned a way to import rest and interval metres from the C2 log but I've not explored that yet, so just add the recovery in manually as a separate entry.

I did see someone say (a while ago) that it's possible to set the PM5 up so that instead of intervals plus rest it's intervals with no rest (then you just treat each second interval as a rest during the session) but I've not investigated how to do that. I imagine it would involve a lot button pressing!

If you use variable intervals and do int 1 as the effort with no rest, int 2 as the rest period/distance but with no recovery etc it will capture all the metres. Downside is you need to do it for all the intervals you plan to do which can take some time, whereas if you do distance intervals you say 1km/ min rest and it will keep going with more intervals until you stop.
Once you’ve done a specific session though you can always find it in the memory and rerow it so you only have to set each one up once in theory.

The other method, which also gets your splits and distances for any intervals onto fetch (along with HR, Stroke Rate and Power data) is to download and save the workout from the Concept2 Log as a TCX file, then upload the TCX file to fetch and amend the training type. It's more fiddly than the automatic capture that Fetch has built linking to C2 Logbook but it gets you all the info, which I prefer. If you out a session on fetch that way it brings the rest distances across too.

Have any of you heard of the Asensei app? It's a thing that does a little follow along Concept 2 rowing plan with Eric Murray as your coach (Eric Murray is half of the legendary Kiwi Pair that won a couple of Olympic golds so he's a big deal) and seems to link to your PM5 like Ergdata does. It also includes a lot of the Dark Horse sessions too.
I've just seen a link and downloaded it but won't be able to have a play until next week now. If anyone fancies it have a quick search. Their website says Apple and Androidversions available.
The initial intro stuff is free but there are payment options when you get in deeper. I'll let you know what I find out when I get to give it a proper go.

Actually it looks like it does a variety of plans that it can tailor to your level and ambitions, and it can look at the data from the machine to suggest how you could improve your stroke, or at least that's what the website says.
Hmm. Wonder if it's going to work well enough to be worth investing in.
