Well, it used to be cute, pink, and little and generally I keep it under clothing and don't wave it around at people. But right now it's swollen, engorged with blood, throbbing, and purple.

Note to self: try to not drop shelf units onto your toe.

Moreover, the point of impact coincides with the footstrap on the C2. So it looks like I'm on the bench for a while.

Feck, feck, feckity feck.

That's a bugger Muttley. Ice and rest it.

Bloody aggressive shelf units!

Ye Gods, it's gone rock solid hard and is pulsating like hell. Alcohol, I need alcohol. I'll see what it's like tomorrow morn but I suspect a visit to the minor injuries clinic might be in order.

Get that checked out by an expert mate! That looks pretty bad to my untrained eye.

Steady state 10k today because it’s all I’ve got the time or energy for.

How is the toe this morning Muttley?

Craggy, how far are you from some form of pre-BRIC taper?

Ouch, Muttley! That looks really sore. Hopefully it's "just" bruising and nothing worse. Have you got it checked out yet?

The X-ray shows that the toe is broken but fortunately not where it matters, ie, not on the joint area. Nurse said I was very lucky. But it's going to take anything from 3 to 6 weeks to repair so that's the running and rowing kyboshed for the foreseeable.

Also, I take issue with the name of the NHS facility that saw me. I don't think that "minor injuries clinic" is appropriate when we're talking about a man's hurty toe.

Good job you got that checked Muttley! Fingers crossed it takes nearer three weeks than six to fix.

That really is adding insult to injury, Muttley, but good you got it checked. Fingers crossed for a quick recovery!
