That looks very painful Muttley! Wishing you a speedy recovery mate, I'm guessing you'll be able to row before you can run?

Nellers, I'm still coughing so just been doing easy metres trying to maintain fitness. Taper would have been 7 - 10 days but at this rate I'll have to push it back to just a few days in order to fit in a couple of sessions to sharpen up.

Thank you all for the recovery wishes!

I don't know what I'll be able to do first, run or row, but I've never cracked this rowing strapless lark so maybe now is a good time to have another go. Before that, though, being able to walk instead of hobble would be a good start.

I hope the cough clears quickly from here Craggy, and that the toe is a 3 week break, not a 6 week one Muttley.

Well Nellers, since we're in the last week of November already I guess that's 3 or 4 weeks to let it heal up, then a week or so to gradually slide back into the rowing and running, which will coincide nicely with 1st January. So that's my New Year's resolution sorted. In the meantime, I shall sit on the bench and sulk.

Knocked out a 60 minute session tonight of stroke rate sequences. It's surprisingly hard to push out reasonable watts at low rates.

No 2k last night.
I was tired, the OH is ill, daughter needed picking up, had to cook etc.

Poor excuses I know, so will try harder.

That's not excuses, mate. That's life. You'll get other chances. Hope the OH is on the mend soon and that no-one has suffered any food poisoning in the meantime! ;-)

Thanks Nellers!

Hopefully you'll be able to do some strapless rowing Muttley, or back/arms only on low drag, my partner did a few weeks of that in the summer when she had a knee injury. Failing that'll you'll be fully motivated come 1st Jan 👍

Setup to do 6 x 2km/90 seconds recovery tonight. Got through the first 4 then got interrupted. That recovery was about 8 or 9 minutes. After that I couldn't get going properly. I managed to do the 5th but the stroke rate was higher to maintain the same pace. After that I binned it off.

Still, not a bad session.

Still got 10,000 in, Nellers. Still a decent sesh. But who was brave or foolhardy enough to interrupt you in the shed? :-)

And I see CW's putting in some decent metres ...
