A frustrating morning. Was supposed to be doing a 10,000 metre piece which starts at 10k pace minus 8 and speeds up by 1 sec/500 metres every 1,000 metres. An extended negative split. But I just couldn't get the paceboat in RowPro do just that. After the first segment it kept jumping to the final pace. No idea what I was doing wrong but after a couple of false starts I packed up in a huff and went and put the kettle on instead. I suspect I'll have to row it manually and save it for the future, but that's next time.

Harrumph.

Sounds like an interesting session but tough to set up without RowPro. I don't use it and I don't think you can get the pace boat to do that without it.

Yep, there used to be a few more UK regional competitions throughout the winter season, but I guess with the demise of the UK Concept2 forum, there wasn't a place to advertise them that made sense (and, unless you've got a handy university boat club to rent C2's from, transporting them from far away was an organiser's headache).

I did the C2CTC 666m as an interval session this evening as I couldn't see the point of doing a single effort: 6x666m (90s)

There used to be a thing called the rowathlon, if memory serves. Like a tri but with a rowing leg to replace the swimming. They were held across the country but didn't really take off.

That rowathlon sounds like a killer. Leg burn from a 2k, then get in the bike and ride hard until you can ease to the finish with a sharp 5k run? I think Iā€™m lucky I missed the opportunity!šŸ˜‰
