Thanks Nellers - I'm just used to 2:30 being my easy pace and it didn't feel as easy as I expected. First time on the thing for a month though, so maybe no surprise.

Thanks guys!

SK I did a 3k warm up at rate 18, I find if I warm up at low rate I then carry the long strokes into the TT. Well done on your 5k, that's a great start after a month off the erg 👍

The GB team at BRIC last year did very long slow warm ups last year (shoeless too).

Hopefully we'll pick up some tips by watching the pros at BRIC this year 😉

You'll be back into it soon enough, SK. I've always found the first few workouts a bit sluggish when restarting the PP but that quickly passes.

Declaring 10,000 metres, UT1 band (so hr target in the 130s, ease off when over 140), identical pace to last time but hr a couple of beats higher.

On the plus side, the workout raised the ambient air temperature in the lounge by 1.5 degrees :-)

You are a human heater Muttley!:-)

I binned off the morning session because I've got a bit of a sore throat. I'll see how I'm feeling this afternoon.

You jest, Nellers, but my house has no central heating. Instead, it has a heat recovery system and a bunch of air intakes and outlets that circulate air and redistribute any warmth from, eg, the kitchen. So when I have a good blast in the lounge I am in my own way heating the whole house :-)

And you need to rest up. If it's man flu that could be serious.

Could be interesting Nellers, there's not much info there, not sure it there's more details if you log in?

Another day, another TT... I really shouldn't leave my monthly challenges until the last few days 🙄

One mile this time and my debut at the distance, 5:35.3.. average pace 1:44.1. That gave the lungs a good blow out!!
