I logged in and it's not any more detailed. I might have to ping them a message. I'll let you know if I find anything out.

There's a bit of discussion on our club page, looks like it's 3 workouts within a 2 hour period, they will all be announced on the day, but it's a mixture of short pieces with a longer one.
Just realised we've got a meal booked for mum's birthday so I won't make it. Apparently it's the same day as the Welsh, Scottish and Irish champs, so not the best choice of dates!

Probably wise, Craggy, not to ditch your Mum's birthday meal for an erging competition. If I were to do that it would not be good for my life expectancy.
So anyway, November's off to a good start with 15 mins to warm up then 4 x 1,000 target pace 2k with 4-min recoveries. My least favourite session but I manned up and did it. About 7,000 metres in total today.

Nice one Muttley!
Yesterday was 6 x 500m/r2, as per beginner's Pete. Wasn't sure what to target for pace so; I think I judged it right as each one felt like a challenge but I kept it fairly consistent (except the last one where I went faster because I had no reason to keep anything back!).

Sounds like you paced that right, SK, if you were strong on the final rep. I read somewhere (might be in relation to running) that hard effort-long recovery reps are designed to practice economy and form at higher paces, and that the length of the recovery is immaterial. Economy and form suffer if you're fatigued so the recovery is as long as you need. Cf hard effort-short recovery reps, which are about improving the aerobic/anaerobic system. That's how it recall it being explained.
Standard disclaimer: I could be talking bollox and it has been known ...
Anyhoo, today was supposed to be a running day but I didn't fancy the coastal path and being near to cliffs in a force 9 or 10 and driving rain. So 10,000 metres on the erg at easy UT1 pace, about 15 metres ahead of myself from last time at identical hr numbers.

Well done Muttley 1k reps are hard! Wise choice to stay indoors yesterday, nice 10k.
Always good to get the first interval session out of the way Sally Kate and put down some markers to build upon.
12k for me today to round off a 60k week, only 5 weeks until BRIC

Decision made. No BRIC for me this year. Struck down with Manflu (OK, I've got a cold which is leaving me with a cough) which means no rowing since Tuesday and no prospect of anything meaningful this week really. The most I'll manage is a few "get going again" steady rows.
There just aren't enough weeks left for me to really hit the high intensity stuff I need. That was already where I was lacking and I can't dive straight back into that after a break. It's a shame but I wouldn't be able to do myself justice.
I think I need to give myself a few days to get this bug out of my system then ease myself back into things without the pressure of rushing to hit a deadline, then I might spend a couple of months working on the Half Marathon PB and see how much fun that turns out to be. A bit more flexibility in my training plan wouldn't hurt removing the deadlines should allow me to do that.

Really sorry to hear that Nellers, I hope you feel better soon! I think with a solid two months training before BRIC you'd have been in good shape, so it's unfortunate you've been struck down by manflu. I agree, removing deadlines takes the pressure off and you can now build up as you wish. A focus on half marathon sounds good, I'll hopefully be doing the same in the new year and possibly a marathon around April/May.

Sounds like a good first intervals session SK. Enough of a challenge but leaving you confident you can go faster next time.
That's a shame, Nellers, but maybe the best decision so you're not trying to get back to full training too soon after your "manflu".
There's always the English IRC instead. I think they're in February. I was also hoping to give BRIC a go this year but there have been too many interruptions to my training since April, but if I can get closer to 8 mins for 2000m over the next couple of months, I might give the English champs a try, just to experience an event. We'll see!

Another stroke rate question:
For longer distances (e.g. 5000m, 10,000m and HM), what kind of stroke rate would you be aiming for in a TT/race vs L3/L4 training effort? The distances are increasing a bit in the PP now and I'm trying to work out whether my s/r is roughly in the right range. Thanks!
