Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I tried a Garmin «benchmark test» on the Epix watch. This guides you through a warm-up, 5 mins «strong» which I did slightly above LTHR, then cool down. The watch then reports threshold HR, threshold pace, and power (from the HRM-Pro pulse belt) The report was 2 seconds gaster than a few weeks ago, same HR at threshold, and an improved watts figure than a few weeks ago.

It was only later that I found out you only really should do this when prompted by a newly-started Garmin Coach training plan (and I already was in one on pause). So it didn't update my threshold numbers on GC app. I'm not bothered, since there's such a small difference, but there is no short cut to doing the 20-minute LTHR test periodically, after all.

90% probability of rain at 10pm would have been short odds as I ran out of excuses not to go out tonight. Loins girded and three layers donned, I ran over the coastal park, and faced up to a 15mph NNW wind driving on the rain. A foray along the beach, then the reverse route, in drizzle and just a breeze. 61 min.

Some good signs there Steve

Well done on getting out in that rain swittie

Plan for this morning was a 45 min easy/recovery run. Did a loop making the route up as I went and was pleased with a 45 min 14 second run. Legs felt good after yesterdays long run. Going to do a couple more miles before work tonight

Enjoy your day everyone

Nice one Steve!
Its awful when you can't muster up the right excuse. Better luck next time Swittle 🤣
Thanks, you to Riggys.

I manage to get another good mileage run in easy effort during lunch time.
Stormy weather, but at least no rain.

A wee 8k trot at 5:48 pace, enjoying the sunshine before tomorrow’s predicted rain & strong winds.

Six hours of rain abated by 5pm but I left it until 10 before venturing out. 20mph wind from the west but sideways on, so no biggy. Split the lakes, then N along beach to Burbo Bank; u-turn, and trails through Blundellsands before joining beach at the baths. A hardy couple sat on the beach, defying the odd shower but I got a wriggle on, returning to base via beach and boating lake. 63 min.

10k this morning, breezy conditions, calm along the river. Forecast windy this afternoon - could be a good drying day 😳

Had to go to parkrun on another errand. Two miles with the 30min pacer then a mile of short efforts and recoveries and a fast finish.

Ran Woodhouse Moor parkrun today. Predicted 27m30s and just saw results email with 27m29s so close but no cigar. Enjoyed the run as there more in the tank and was trying to keep even pace for the predicted time.
