It's still you, it's just telling you how it reads your capability. If fairly accurate, it could even serve at a starting pace cap. If my watch had predicted something more reasonable than circa 1:25 for HM last year, I might have used it for that. Of course I might have still got sucked in by something faster. I think 78 was a reasonable target but I started thinking about 76 but hadn't done the training to hold that pace. I did an 8 mile training run at 77 min pace 18 days before though and that got me thinking greedily, lol. McMillan predicted 1:16:43 from my 3000 that year. |

Yes, I agree with what you’re saying SPR. Larkim, if it was accurate, it would be a useful datapoint amongst all the other data points you probably pore over A bit like when looking at weather forecast apps - look at 4 and then choose the most appropriate one

Yes, agree with that. It's a bit too "black box" for me at the moment though. Let me play around with how the various inputs are working towards the output and perhaps I could engage with it better.

Interesting issue with my watch this morning, it decided that I had a route loaded with 50,000m of elevation. Strange that it shows right on Garmin connect. |

Hi SPR, here's my predictor for the last 4 weeks. It doesn't show the same step as yours but it is trending upwards! |

@chunkyblizzard probably worth checking if you have the right update in System - About and via the Garmin forum to confirm the update version number for your model. I imagine for some people the update didn't change anything though if the calculation change still somehow produced the same result. |

Mine has a distinct shift to being slower on all distances recently which is definitely closer to real world best efforts but still not close enough fore to take seriously

I forced an update on the Epix this morning. I just noticed my one race has disappeared from the watch calendar, with the effect that the daily suggestion would not be geared to the race. Grr! Luckily, if you go to the calendar entry on the app you can send it to the watch and resync and then it appears again. As for the predictions, I have seen no change.
