Thanks - in this instance then, I suspect in the first 10 minutes I was running at quite a high heart rate on a pretty flat surface (albeit pebbled) for a comparatively low pace and hence the result.

That makes sense. I forgot Garmin gives you an in activity rating if you have it turned on. I usually just see it in the charts later or on runalyze.

I had a terrible time with my Fenix 7s losing bluetooth connectivity to my Polar Sense armband yesterday, kept looking down at the watch and it had no reading, then 90ish, then back up to the expected 140ish, then nothing again. The only thing I can think of is that the pairing ID of the Sense changed after a firmware update to it, so after I got back, I deleted the old pairing ID (which it seemed to be still searching for), deleted the new one again, and re-paired it. I'll see how it fares tomorrow morning.

Cheeky’s Dad
How do people find their Garmin’s ability to track lengths swum in the pool and are there ways to get it to log more accurately? I have a Fenix 6 Pro. Normally it seems to over count by something in the region of 10% (ie 3 or 4 x 25m lengths over 1km). I know that’s not just me counting wrong as I definitely always do an even number of the goths but it often counts an odd number.

Last time out it was stunningly off telling me I had swum 50m (2 lengths) in 37 mins when I made it 1000m (40 lengths). I edited manually and it then gave me a badge for swimming at an average of under 2 mins per 100m 😳 I wish!

I’m not a swift or particularly proficient swimmer so don’t do fancy turns and take the odd break between lengths. The sessions are also sometimes crowded which messes with pacing.

So, is there something I might be doing to confuse my watch or anything practical I can do to cue that I have completed a length (within my limited skill set)? Any advice gratefully received

If you're taking breaks, stop the watch. Any waving about while you're at the end of the lane will log phantom lengths. They sometimes get confused if you change stroke halfway down the length (say, if you came up behind a slower swimmer and had to change strokes to hold up a bit).

My Fenix 5X has good days and bad days with pool lengths.
Some days, it's spot on.
Some days, it'll add an few and miss a few so it ends up being near enough.
And some days it's wildly out in either direction.

I'm a mediocre-at-best swimmer - noi fancy turns, and the odd break between lengths and no fancy turns here.

What I can't understand is... My training hasn't uploaded at all but FreshStart has had her parkrun volunteering walk uploaded 4 times! Lol 😂
