For data transfers, it can be a bit hit and miss - but I'd say no more so than the genuine Garmin cable. I've had knock-off cables with the Garmin-style connector that were completely useless - IME, the dock-style ones are far better. (For reference, I have a Fenix 5X and my wife has a Fenix Plus 5S)

As they didn't have any 255 standard in stock, they are sending me a 255 music. I don't run with music so won't use the additional feature but once again impressive customer service from Garmin.
