I've had one of those (or, at least, something that looks the same!) for a few years now - it works well for charging. For data transfers, it can be a bit hit and miss - but I'd say no more so than the genuine Garmin cable. I've had knock-off cables with the Garmin-style connector that were completely useless - IME, the dock-style ones are far better.
(For reference, I have a Fenix 5X and my wife has a Fenix Plus 5S)

The dock arrived in the post at lunchtime. Garmin plugged in, it fired up straight away and is now 100% charged.

The other good thing is that, unlike the official charging cable, you can still wear the watch/dock combo on your wrist whilst charging it up from a powerbank (in a pocket), if you are doing a particularly long activity

I manually uploaded some strength training to garmin connect and it changed it to a run on import to fetch. I had to change it manually- anyone else had this?

My 965 (which auto-uploads) sent my strength work correctly this evening. How did you classify the strength work into GC? I wonder if the activity was under a category that Fetch doesn’t map correctly.

My 255 had to go back to Garmin as the GPS issues seemed to terminal. As they didn't have any 255 standard in stock, they are sending me a 255 music. I don't run with music so won't use the additional feature but once again impressive customer service from Garmin.
