Anyone have the index s2 scale?
My old scale gave up so I went for the Garmin one, tech nerd as I am.
But itโ€™s a dud apparently. Spent a few hours trying to get it going, even sat with the official Garmin support chat, they did what Iโ€™ve already had googled and tried.
And they couldnโ€™t get it going either ๐Ÿ˜ฑ.
So have anyone had issues and got it going still?

Sigh
I have the original Garmin index scale (which the s2 replaced), had it since 2018 and never had a problem with it.

I trust Garmin are going to replace your dud one?

Yes I will return it, 3party vendor, but no problems there.
It was an issue with the WiFi connection, and a lot of people have had these problems. So Iโ€™m not sure replacing it will sort it out actually.
Maybe if I get one with later firmware that can update it self and handle the newer WiFi protocols and what not.

I shall see :)

My Garmin was struggling for about a week to pick up GPS as quickly as normal and then sometimes losing it after picking up. Given I had an XC race today I wanted to sort it yesterday and it was nice to be able to just delete the RemoteSW folder and for a sync to restore a correct version to fix.

Never had a problem with the WiFi connection on my earlier version of the same scale. How strong is the wifi generally in the room you use the scales in? (Apologies if you've been through this, I'm sure you have).

Random question but donโ€™t suppose anyone has an old garmin lying around to be sold? My mamโ€™s has broken. It would need to be suitable for swimming. Thanks.

I use a Netgear M5 mobile router, which is pretty modern, Bowman ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช, and have hooked up an S2 successfully, perhaps 2 years ago. When I started it, I stood it next to the router to make sure I had a good signal. I can't recall any problems, sorry.

Sigh, Iโ€™ve built a semi professional network in my house by my self, so I have ok knowledge, but no need to apologize :). I even tried different network types and protocols :)
I also tried Garmins suggestion to switch to a iOS network to get the scale to be able to download the proper FW.
But I think itโ€™s a dead out the box. Maybe somethings wrong with the WiFi chip. Oh well back to the store.

Ok, cheers Steve! I probably have a broken one.
