If your watch isn’t holding charge then the first thing I would do is a hard reset (this doesn’t lose user data) For the red patch, wear the watch on the other wrist until it clears. Treat the red skin with E45 to help. Well that’s what I would do (but I’m no doctor) |

Sometimes I get marks and red/flaky skin from the strap (not the watch). My radical solution is - take it off for a bit. Even overnight. I might miss out on steps, or (highly questionable) sleep data, but meh. (If I'm working, due to the environment, I generally have to take it off anyway.) |

Thanks all good thought on hard reset. I’ve had occasional red patches but never this bad I’ll leave it off for more if the time I keep saying I should wear it only for exercise as I can get a tad obsessed even though I don’t take much notice of the sleep data anyway (other than disagree when it says I’ve had a good nights sleep but wake up exhausted 😅) Appreciate the replies. |

I switch to the other wrist when I get red patches under the watch until it's gone.

I think (if its the same as me!) it's basically sweat rash! Lovely! I use a bit of athletes foot cream (the cheaper mycota stuff, not steroid/canestan!) until it clears up. Oh, and clean the back of the watch as well as wearing it on the other arm! |

I wouldn’t have thought I got that sweaty esp not in winter and honestly I do take it off and wash properly everyday 🤣 I’ll give it a bit of a rest while I am lurgified and see what happens. Thanks all at least I can presume it’s not trying to electrocute me.

um
Is the battery performance just due to cold weather? Not garmin specific, but both my old phone and old camera batteries go really flaky in the near or sub zero temparatures, and miraculously recover when warmed up. (just in the house, I'm not physically heating them up) |

I don’t think it’s been that cold um, it just seems like I’m charging it a lot more. I’ve googled hard reset and it says it will take back to factory settings so bit scared to do that? Or am I on the wrong thing chunkywizard? |

Hi GG, a hard reset and factory reset are different. A hard reset doesn't clear the watch, whereas a factory reset does. What watch do you have? On most Garmins you can perform a hard reset by pressing and holding the power button for around 15 seconds until the screen fades to black. Then just repower the watch. |

Thanks I’ve done the hard reset by pressing and holding let’s see if that works. When I googled hard reset it gave me factory reset fingers crossed and thanks again.
