Good point Badger- I don't know off hand but can check later. It was a GPX supplied but the event - I assume someone ran it rather than plotted it so it might be data heavy.
I was flipping through the screens at the time whilst walking up an hill & it got stuck on heart rate at 125.

Something like GPSbabel is good for downsampling GPX files, you can often get away with downsampling a route that's been run to 10% of its original size without losing too much detail.

Oh, that's a great tip. I will have to test on a local route.

So my Garmin Fenix S Pro lasted a 24 hour race, just! I had Bluetooth off and battery saver on, not sure if there’s anything else I can do to prolong its life but I probably won’t be doing many 24 hour events!

Not sure if this a garmin or a Fetch question. My FR245 is set up in kms and my training logs come through with 1km splits. If I'm doing intervals of less than 1km then the log has 0.4, 0.8 splits etc. But if I do longer intervals (e.g. 1 mile) then the training log records splits of 1km and 0.6km. I'm assuming that there is a setting on Fetch or Garmin that will mean that for these sessions the splits would come through at 1.6km - but where should I be looking?

I think you need to turn auto lap off on the Garmin MisterTea. Garmin and Fetch should then both show the rep as 1.609km etc.
Remember to turn back on after intervals. Unlike me! 😀

Yep, you need to turn autolap off.
My cycling Garmin will do this automatically if I'm doing a preplanned workout, but not the running watch. It would be useful if both types did that!

Oh, and the full laps of the run workout seem to be preserved in Garmin Connect (look under the 'intervals' tab), but not elsewhere.

So on some watches (might not be on the 245) you can create new activity types. Just clone the running one, call it intervals and then set the auto-lap to off. You then don’t have to switch back and forth and you can also customise the data screens by adding useful info like lap number, and last lap.
