I nearly left my breakfast in the sand at one point lammo!
But yes, that's a marker. Obvious lessons from today are that I need to pace my reps better and that my running needs to improve somewhat. I should be able to do better than 9:30 miles, even after all that lot. There's definitely time to save on the runs.

Excellent time, very well done! You need to do a leader board when you have a mo > You'll be at the top of that for at least a month.

I feel like anyone who can manage the reps and can run will take my time down easily. You can make up an easy 2-4 minutes on my runs. That second run was just survival mode for the first half after all the reps, then survival mode after the first half for the second half!

TBH, I would be happy with a 59:XX first time out.

I'd be happy to be confident enough to attempt it and not have to be rescued by an ambulance.
Well done Nellers.

Yes, well done, I just had a look back through my old cross fit days, I used to go 2 or 3 times a week as I felt it helped my running, i.e I found normal gym a bit dull and weight training not quite right, I now do my own stuff at home, which serves me well enough and is cheap :-). Never did murph but took part in some of the sessions leading up to an attempts, here's what I managed.....
20 AMRAP
5 pull ups in 20 minutes 10 press ups, hands off 15 air squats
Managed 12 and 1
so 61 PUs 120 press ups 180 squats
I fund practice is the key, you get to do the exercise movements efficiently, I could always outrun the big chaps, but they could always lift more, and with better technique than I could.
In the end, I found t actually got in the way of running, and had a spell of circuit training, which I found more beneficial for my running.

I'm not sure that all the CrossFit stuff is going to make a good runner better, but it might make a slow middle-aged rower/runner more able to handle the running training and more able to generate power on the rower. I think my run racing days are behind me at this stage anyway!
Are we setting a November date for another go at this? What date works for people? And if you're planning to scale anything (which is perfectly fine if that's what works for you) then what are you planning to do? I'll pop it in the sidebar if that's OK once you know.
How about 22nd November?
