That's understandable. You don't need to get rid of something just because you won't use it again. It's the memories associated with it

My best friend at the time liked my wedding dress and she bought one for her sister. We wore them as bridesmaid/matron of honour for my best friend's wedding a year after my wedding.

Never wore it again and didn't keep it very long.

I don't need the dress to remember the day and the memories. It releases space in my wardrobe.

Exactly WP, you can just look at your husband and remember the day 🥂

and I can do the same but there are somethings that I don't want to let go of. :-)

After 32 years my wedding dress is still in our wardrobe. I’m a ruthless declutterer otherwise but can’t let that go

Mine eventually went to charity, mostly because I was divorced but also because I was moving house and didn’t have the space for it. It was sad to just give it away, but my kids didn’t think they’d want it, I hope someone found a use.

Not sure what I’ll do after my wedding next year, I have thoughts of dyeing/shortening but not sure I’d wear it again even changed up.

I loved mine so much that even if I never wear it again, I can't get rid of it.

I have been listing on Vinted again. I have a few items that I bought in sales and have either not used or hardly used and got a fair bit of my money back. I’ve even sold running shoes that I no longer use.
I’ve made quite a bit since I started thanks to this thread, and I don’t find it any hassle at all, I quite enjoy the process (though I’m not working). :)

I moved my wii into a bag (and upstairs!) probably about 1 year ago (and hadn't used it for a few years before then). Just trying to work out if I declutter it completely out of my house!

".... This month, each of you must get rid of one thing on the first day. On the second, two things. Three items on the third. So forth, and so on. Anything can go! Clothes, furniture, electronics, tools, decorations, etc. Donate, sell, or trash. Whatever you do, each material possession must be out of your house—and out of your life—by midnight each day."
