We took a load to charity when my OH moved in with me.
I also took some to the local homeless charity, mugs and forks/spoons were particularly useful but I think they also gave them to people setting up on their own

When my Mum died I took most of her stuff to Red Cross as they never refused any goods. They told me items they didn't resell they had outlets for.
Our Red Cross shop has since shut down.

Not sure we have either Red Cross or a local homeless charity!

Pix - the recycling centre should take anything a charity shop may decline. Our recycling centre has a 'shop' and we can buy all sorts of stuff there.

Pix - I haven't been to the shop for ages. Last time I went to buy a set of Hoover tools and came home with a chair.

I didn't know they had a shop, it's not advertised. But when I was looking for replacement hoover tools, that's apparently the place to go. Hoover tools cost £1, chair £5.
