Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs)- if not good enough for a charity shop then recycling skips, I use the ones at Sainsbury's or Tescos.

Or the kerbside collections, we must get a bag through the door every week! Fabrics are often sold by weight for rags so they do still get used, as far as I know.

My local charity shop says we can drop "rag" off there - I mark it - and they sell it on by the weight. I think they'd get the value more than the so-called charity collection bags through the letter box.

Re Vinted, I don't think I (or rather my daughter) has ever received stuff packaged in anything other than re-used plastic bags.

I used to volunteer in an Oxfam shop and we sent a lot of stuff off which wasn't fit for selling. It is a better way than the collection bags.

I’m always a bit dubious as to what they do with the collection bags and how much money gets to the charity. But sometimes it’s just convenient!
Recently there’s a swanky charity shop with a cafe opened nearby, I think they put out the really good quality stuff and send the rest to smaller shops. But it’s actually really easy to drop off as they have a separate door next to the car park and so far they’ve been really grateful for any donations, I’ve experienced shops turning stuff away when they’re full.

Our preferred charity shop always say take rags in sealate bags as it goes to fabric recycling centre and they get some money for it.

I don't trust the kerbside bags either. There are collection points at our local Tesco for unwanted clothes. And unless I'm mistaken, they have one for shoes as well (for those ones I have had 'lurking' for many years that no longer fit).

".... This month, each of you must get rid of one thing on the first day. On the second, two things. Three items on the third. So forth, and so on. Anything can go! Clothes, furniture, electronics, tools, decorations, etc. Donate, sell, or trash. Whatever you do, each material possession must be out of your house—and out of your life—by midnight each day."
