Don't we also get £150 through the council or something? Is that automatic, or do you need to apply somewhere? I live in the right property band to be eligible.

Technically thsts only if you pay by direct debit. If you do not do that i think they are supposed to get in touch with you to find out how to pay you.

I think I am a council tax band too high to get the £150

Final bill in and I overpaid by £80 and do £280 in credit. Will see what the position is at end may before deciding what to do.

Interestingly the renewal quote now has £15 less than I am actually paying.

I am kind of inclined to leave my payment as it is and hope that we can absorb that as a worst case scenario albeit with other bills going up and in one down it may need sacrifice elsewhere.

£150 arrived in my bank from the local council on Friday.
Zero intervention from me.
Came as a bit of a surprise, to be honest, as I hadn’t given it any thought whatsoever.

OK, thanks, will investigate... They just took out a huge chunk: CT has nearly doubled here, so I doubt I will notice the arrival of such a trivial sum...
My water bill has gone from £105 per 6 months to £185 per 6 months too, while I have been consuming less and that is with the builders using loads. Not pleased...

BT also seems to want to bump me up hugely, saying I will get more for my money. As we have pitiful broadband here, I have no TV and no mobile signal, anyone had success in convincing/ forcing them in only supplying you with a landline and broadband and NOT making you pay for other things you don't/can't use, like I am now, as it is included in the "basic" package? Don't particularly want to pay for sports I cannot watch, 4G I cannot use and cloud storage I don't need and cannot access?

Same here. Very pleasant surprise when I checked my account.
