Great dippy!

Lots of people are saying too soon

Is it foolish of me to think that those who think itโ€™s too soon will continue as was and not do stuff because they can and then maybe the impact wonโ€™t be so great?
(Laughs at own foolishness)

EP - I don't think that's a foolish hope. Some people will go to shopping centres, and BBQ parties because they are allowed to and they've missed them, but I think it's not too hopeful to believe that many people will take all the careful steps they think they should to continue to keep themselves and their families safe.

I can't risk giving this to mum, but she can't stay completely isolated forever, I shall visit her in her garden and I shall keep myself as isolated as I can so that when we are allowed to travel I can take her places - even if that means we both wear masks in the car.

My mum is shielding

I would love to spend an hour in her garden but itโ€™s 125m away so I would need a wee! And a hug ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ

The shielding thing is confusing.

Mum is 80 (just) has a pacemaker having only just survived a valve replacement and bypass op in 2014. She's quite fit and well otherwise and hasn't had a letter to shield
But, she's getting her meds delivered by the pharmacy and Tesco said she was on her priority list and gets delivery slots OK. - It's like she's on a list, but no-one told her.

Anyway, sister and I have laid down the rules and she is pretty much shielded.

It is incredibly difficult to visit and not hug :(

i think the changes being introduced this weekend/monday are very much in line with what some people are doing anyway, so im not convinced it will make a difference to the outcome, just that the government will be blamed instead of the individuals if there is an increase in cases. openning shops remains might make more of a difference.

Will pretty much the same for us for now, although OH is possibly meeting someone in our garden today, and maybe doing some distanced sword fighting on Thu in a group of 6. We'll see. I'm not sure whether by then we'll already see that things are creeping back up, so he won't go.

I agree with Bonners, that those of us who can stay fairly locked down without too much discomfort (of any kind) should.
