Thanks Canute - that's a useful answer. So treat with scepticism, but don't totally dismiss. Whatever else he has highlighted that it isn't 100% down to individual government response that some countries get it bad and others don't (although I'd argue it mainly is).

thanks Canute. Its easy to lose sight of the complexity of the behaviour of a virus which we are still learning about.

Thanks Canute - I hope that there is a degree of truth in his theory though, explaining the differences in death rate between different populations would be most useful. It seems to be good news that so many are testing negative, but I do worry that so many people seem to be contracting non-COVID coughs and colds when we're all supposed to be being very hygienic and practicing social distancing. The death rate when compared to positive tests also appears higher here than elsewhere. This leads me to believe that we have a high rate of false negatives and that isolating when we have symptoms and not testing may be a better strategy. |

Thank you Canute, I found the article interesting, and hopeful, but have no scientific training to help me evaluate it. I suppose that only time will tell, but hindsight is a wonderful thing. We live and hopefully learn.

Got my antibody test result today: Negative. I'm not hugely surprised (despite thinking maybe I'd be an asymptomatic carrier) since my crewmate and I took the decision in February to wear PPE to every job and clean our truck ourselves rather than trust the base crew have done it! |

Wow, so as of tonight NZ will move to level 1! covid19.govt.nz basically "life as normal" but with border controls and public health measures. Coincidently, today was the first day with no active cases. The 17th day in a row with no new cases, but the first with no active cases. I do hope that the UK gets to this point soon. |
