In Asda Saturday morning I saw only 2 adults without a mask. One lady on crutches who didn’t look in the best of health and her husband was wearing a mask. And the other was a very heavily pregnant lady with her mask under her chin, probably just needed a breather!

We're in the same boat. School had organised a "prom" for the year 6 kids on the last day of school, at school, in their classroom. Of course, that's binned now. The last day of self-isolation is Friday! It does mean that my plans to take the boy to Bear Grylls Adventure on Saturday are still on, albeit with a very early start instead of a trip down the night before. Littlest is also self-isolating because of close contact in the Foundation stage bubble. She was more upset, actually. We got the email about her self-isolation on Sunday evening, we'd spent Saturday afternoon/evening and Sunday morning just me and her at a local spa/golf resort because she wanted to sleep in a four poster bed - it was originally going to be a family trip but we had to cancel the other room because mum and son needed to stay home. So the wife's homeschooling today and Wednesday, I'm WFH/homeschooling Tues/Thurs and I'd booked Friday off to take the boy to Birmingham so we'll all be at home on that day. Both adults have done LFD today, both clear. |

In London today for work and my second vaccination, it's no different from any other time that I've been in recently (quiet on the trains, vast majority wearing masks etc)

Had a few minutes of conflict last night when 12yo (self isolation day 8) looked like he'd broken his arm messing around in the garden. We weren't sure whether we had to call an ambulance or were allowed to take him to A&E, and it was pretty difficult to get the info. NHS 111 online suggested ambulance, but eventually we got through to the A&E and they advised that my wife could register him at the checkin and leave him in the car, and then they'd triage and potentially treat him outside (which is eventually what happened). Obviously, if he was in a life threatening state it would have been 999, or at worst a car to A&E without worrying about covid, but as we had some time to think about it, despite being convinced he needed some medical attention before we could judge he was safe to sleep on it, it was surprising the info wasn't clearly available. Or maybe it is, and I just didn't find it! |

On a similar note, 12yo would be due to return to school on Tuesday for 1.5 days to the end of term. Given the levels of SI / bubble bursts at the school in the last 3 weeks, I think we'll advise school he'll not be in as the risk of him getting told to SI for 10 days would be too big an impact on our holiday plans - and lord knows we need a holiday!! |

Although there is a time-lag with stats, the seven-day averages seem to show cases declining in Scotland. I think that most (albeit not all) Scots will wish that to continue, so will be cautious. Plus obviously face-coverings remain a legal requirement. |

My Dad had to go to A&E in an ambulance last week and I wasn't allowed to go with him, neither in the ambulance nor into A&E. I had to wait to be told what they were doing to him, admitting or not and then which ward he went to. The ward was allowing visits. The hospital is not changing anything under the new regime.

Tubes mostly working as normal today, only slightly more crowded. Most people still wearing masks. Pret staff were still wearing them as well.
