Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The digestives/hovis things in the assortment boxes tend to get thrown out here.

Or any cheese with sweet additions - like cranberries, apricots, raisins etc.

Oatcakes are my preferred accompaniment for cheese. Although I don't turn down cheese and cake in those houses that offer it.

Work provided everyone with a hamper this year. It's a Spanish company and the hampers came from Spain, so in parts may be a challenge for our not-very-adventurous family. Among other things it contains a 1kg sheep's cheese.

No cheese for me as it makes me nauseous :-(

My Dad used to make our Christmas cakes, and he was quite good at it :-) . I liked the marzipan, but I used to cut away the icing. The body of the cake was great :-)

Sheep milk cheese is delicious, and they won't know its not cow if you don't tell them.

It's never crossed my mind to eat cheese with Christmas cake. Although I've eaten plenty of Plum Bread with cheese over the years. Hmmm interesting....

Great cake HB - love the dinosaur :)

Take slice of cake pull of icing and marzipan add a slice of whichever cheese is available - I've even been known to spread brie on it. Eat cheesy cake. eat lumps of icing/marzipan with a cup of tea or three over the rest of the evening ;)

Anyone else ever fried leftover Christmas pud for breakfast?

Love it, HB. My best was rough icing with a Playmobil Arctic explorer pulling a pulk and a mountain-biker.

I've never thought of, or tried, fried Christmas pudding. Maybe that should be tried on Boxing Day, Alice? Christmas cake with cheese is the best.
