94 - sounds like beast mode. How do you even stop on that?
I've just got back on my 2005 fuji fixed after years of not riding it. That's just under 70GI and is OK for commuting 14 miles. The train is quite expensive at £50 a week so with the saving, every bike commute puts £1 in the projector fund.
Bike neglect and a non-sealed bearing makes work a little harder.
If anyone can recommend a decent rear hub / wheel-builder or seller in or around London, that would be useful.

I rode 110 inch at the weekend during a tt. Suddenly you know when flat is not flat.
85 rpm was 25 plus mph. Due to the wind it was a little big.
Ouch

Surprised your knees are still in one piece G, that is definitely a track pursuit gear or a very flat TT imho. I doubt I could get over a motorway bridge in that gear nowadays. Still you did it that is what matters, time?

Dai - it is a flat (rolling) course . 49 x 13 may be better
Lumpier ones I ride 49 x 14

Could never get comfortable on anything other than 48x16 but frankly I never really got anywhere with fixed so that was swapped to a bike tat I used fir rollers only.
What time did you get and how did that compare with any time on that course using gears?

Never ridden the course before as a 10 but I have gone faster in a 25 over the section. Surprised how lumpy I found it but rode 21.34 so a solid effort.

Tried a bit of circuit racing at York today. Hung on for longer than previously, but eventually got pinged out and lapped. I need to improve my cornering - despite not touching the brakes into or through them, I was still managing to lose a bike length or so - need to suss out why.
I also think I may need to acquire a bigger kick out of the corners. I'm unlikely ever to be a sprinter, but comparing some of the power data on strava from other riders racing today, it seems although my average power isn't too far down (given I'm a 58kg oik), peaking at around 700w and managing to hold 550w or so for a few seconds isn't going to be sufficient to keep me in touch - a lot seemed to be peaking well over a 1000w and holding 700-800w for a few seconds.
But at least it gives me something to focus on, and I'll be back to try again, and see if I can last a little longer - at least I wasn't the first to go out the back!
