Wasn't going to call it a Pogacar as it's been done by others in the cobbled classics (actually has Pogacar even done that on the cobbles)? Anyway seems today is a day for those behind the very best to show that while they are behind the the very best, they are a step above the rest themselves.

I thought it was fairly early to go but there's 30+ kms of fairly flat run in after the last time up the Kemmel so you'd kinda have to go there at the latest. On that basis it's not that much earlier than you'd expect.

Also there really doesn't seem to be much intent from the peloton to chase him down does there?

Pedersen is good enough to win from a reduced sprint (unlikely to beat the pure sprinters but would put up a good fight) so having a few good riders go with him would seem ideal. Not seen how it happened yet though.
They may be getting organised now but gap would need to start plummeting now and doesn't seem to be happening (and I hope it doesn't).

He’s earned this win for sure. The bunch are getting organised now but they’re too late aren’t they?

Yep. They are. Well deserved, he's an excellent rider, if not quite a Pogacar or MVDP, still an immense talent.

There's probably riders thinking that about Boonen and Cancellara, although in fairness it does seem so much more likely that big favourites win these days. You don't seem to get the a danger rider sneaking off and then the big favourites neutralising each other behind anymore.

To add to that, I saw somewhere (Inrng?) that Pogacar and MVDP have won 13 of the last 18 monuments!
