Somewhere to discuss pro cycling all year round. If we create race threads, I'll try and keep the header updated with them so people can use this thread to navigate.

So the Vuelta is upon us. I haven't done any research into the route or riders but seems many of the contenders are doubling from the TDF. I can only think of two that aren't, Aru and Landa. I expect this will tell me if I've missed anyone: inrng.com |

Nice one SPR. I'm in the same boat as you, concentrated on the tour so have neglected the Vuelta. It generally has some super sharp climbs that suit Rodriquez and his type of rider. I'm not sure Froome will be super motivated for this one, but the double would be pretty epic for his legacy. Anyone know what kind of TV coverage the Vuelta is getting? |

Thanks B I'll have to get series linking. I thought with Froome riding ITV might have got on the live coverage too.

They probably didn't have the option by the time Froome confirmed he was riding. I think this double will become more popular over the next few years. You get to do the Tour at your best, and then you face weaker competition or others that have done in the Tour in the Vuelta, and for the winner of the Tour it is a no lose situation. The Giro will be avoided by anyone who is serious about winning the Tour for the next few years I think. |
