Personally I think it seems a bit harsh as they all do the sticky bottle thing, and on the highlights Millar was saying how even cars from other teams will let cyclists draft to get back to the bunch. Yes, the pics show a big acceleration and him getting a big gap pretty quickly, but unless there's more footage it's only a short clip, and we don't often see that from the air. It's not like he finished high up the stage/GC.

They were going say 25mph and he shot off the front and away. He must have been going nearly 40mph. He bridged back to the main pack who had something like a minute lead. He only lost a minute and a half, but could have lost 4 minutes and that would have been his GC chances over.
